Zhang Yu ran a transport business with childhood friend Chen Hao, netting nearly two million yuan a year. Yet Chen only paid him 100,000 yuan in dividends and mocked him as nothing more than a laborer. Holding back rage, Zhang used the sum as a truck down payment to go solo. Deprived of Zhang’s help, Chen defaulted on contracts, paid heavy fines, lost his family and wound up as a construction-site guard. Zhang built a flourishing career, married his girlfriend Xiaoyu and severed their broken friendship.
