Returning Lady General

Xie Jinglan, Daxia’s founding lady general and underworld judge, watches her seventh-generation descendant Xie Changqing killed by an impostor heiress. Furious, she makes a one-month deal with Yama to revive in Changqing’s body. She guards her granddaughter’s soul trapped in a pup and teams up with Crown Prince Lu Ren, who hides as a weak scholar. She rectifies the Xie household, defeats the fake daughter and her biased kin, then helps expose the Second Prince’s treason with foreign allies to calm court unrest. When her month-long stay expires, Jinglan returns to the afterlife. Lu Ren abandons his disguise and proposes with the whole kingdom as dowry.
