Father's Final Choice

Liu Fugui, an elderly rural man, unearths ancestral gold bars after his old house collapses under snow. He moves to the city with his wife to test their children. His son Liu Dazhi lives in a luxury mansion yet coldly refuses to support them, and his daughter-in-law Zhou Hong humiliates the elderly couple repeatedly. Desperate, the old couple turn to their daughter Liu Xiaomei, who was abandoned years ago due to the family’s preference for sons. Though they squeeze into a 30-square-meter rental flat, they finally receive genuine warmth. Liu Fugui notarizes all his gold bars worth 50 million yuan to his daughter. This triggers frantic grabs from his son and daughter-in-law, who resort to rumors and even kidnapping. In the end, Liu Dazhi comes to his senses and sacrifices himself to save his nephew. The family reconciles at the renovated old house.
